How it all began.....
Authors Valerie Sherrard and Marsha Skrypuch are
pleased to announce the formation of their new
endeavour, Authors' Booking Service, Ontario, which is
a division of Amdox Limited.
How it all began:
We saw the need for a booking service that would
provide educators and librarians with up-to-date
information on children's and young adult authors who
are willing and qualified to do school and library
presentations and writing workshops.
We recognised that many smaller schools and libraries
cannot afford an author visit, nor do they have time
to co-ordinate an author visit with area schools and
libraries in order to minimize the cost.
We also realized that many schools and libraries are
not aware of funding programs
available to offset some of the costs of an author
presentation.
In answer to these problems, we offer:
Information about where and when our presenters will
be available for bookings. In most cases, these
details will be posted at least three months in
advance.
Updating when our author list expands.
Request Forwarding to our authors when you require a
speaker for a specific date or event. In this case
you may ask for either a general mailing to our entire
list, or a restricted mailing to a specific author or
authors.
We can also advise you about relevant grants or
subsidies for a particular author.
